Um, sure, everybody wants euphoria, but I don’t need to get it this way. Prescribed opiates have let me know that doing this would, in Lou Reed’s words, “be the death of me.”
Lou’s song on this subject, “Heroin,” is enticing, but it is also a valuable warning. Few realize that. It’s not a simple druggie song, dammit.
